Abstract

The human body is a complex electro-mechanical system whose state can be measured through electroencephalography (EEG), electrocardiogram (ECG), electromyography (EMG), photoplethysmography (PPG), skin temperature (SKT), and electrodermal activity (EDA), among others. The acquisition, processing and utilization of these physiological signals becomes essential for the identification of the physical, psychological and cognitive states of the human body. This opens various fields of application in which the use of these signals could be of interest, such as medicine, sports, domestic environment, and interaction with human-computer interfaces. In this sense, recent advances in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques can automate the process without the need for human intervention.

This Biosignals Processing session is open, but not limited, to the following topics:

  • Signal acquisition, analysis and processing
  • Biosignal preprocessing methods
  • Motion control
  • Wearable sensors and systems
  • Real-time & biomedical user interfaces
  • Internet of Health Things
  • Physiological processes and biomedical signal modelling
  • Bioinspired learning for biomedical data
  • Pattern recognition & machine learning for biomedical data
  • Detection and identification of diseases
